Gardens of Memory

Chinchakriya Un’s latest endeavor in service of this greater good was at New Inc.’s Creative Science Dinner this year, which brought together the community working within the New Museum-associated incubator’s “creative science” track. Now in its fourth year, the dinner was held at Noo Arts, a Greenpoint performing arts center located in a building formerly owned by ExxonMobil, also marking the site of an oil spill in the late 1970s that bled into the adjacent Newton Creek and ultimately affected 52 acres of surrounding land and waterways.

Noo Arts

Noosphere Arts, aka Noo Arts, is a 501c3 organization and cultural center led by a team of international creatives whose backgrounds blend the arts and sciences. Its freewheeling, multidisciplinary approach engages diverse audiences and builds community through a range of vibrant public events in its indoor-outdoor home in New York City's Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Mission

Noo Arts produces and presents experimental arts programming at the nexus of art and eco-awareness. It is a welcoming platform where artists of all stripes connect with locals. Uniting music, dance, visual arts, theater, film, poetry & prose, our collaborative productions harness the power of art to drive action towards green living, fair play, and oneness.
